Hurrah! Someone who, like me, likes to have human contact when purchasing something (although damn those internet offers, they're too good to resist sometimes!)
On a strictly money saving point, I saved another £1.96 on a CD today by buying it in, of all places, Sainsburys. (Previous savings were actually from ASDA and the Christian bookshop on High Street).
As for human contact, yes it is good, but in the majority of modern shops that has been lost also - they are just processing meat, and you don't build up a relationship with the staff.
I miss the old Fopp on Regent Street, as when it was there you really got that. Still, if you are buying vinyl, you can still get a non-processed shopping experience at Seismic Records (above Kong).
If you haven't already, read High Fidelity by Nick Hornby, or watch the film based on it. Really gives an insight into this world. I can lend them if you wish.
